On update screed there is no Add button to select the update.

I assume you are inquiring about the 'message' about the 1.9.8 version being available. This is not a software update but instead an informational message. Please view the Revision History forum here for the 1.9.8 release. Also note that 1.9.8.1 is now available for public testing if you want to jump to the latest available version as of this writing.
