The problem is most likely you do not have the correct ODBC drivers on your system. You can download them from Microsoft from the links below.

Palm Companion:

After downloading/installing; remove the AppForge Universal Conduit from the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove programs area, reboot, rerun the Palm Companion setup routine as outlined in the help file (PDA Companions\Palm Companion\Installation).

Pocket PC Companion:

Make sure you have POCKET ACCESS enabled in the ActiveSync options. This seems to be a commonly overlooked configuration item stated in the help documentation.
