In my regular log book, I frequently put entries for what I call 'No-Log' time. I always consider that anytime I'm in the cockpit, I'm learning something, and probably even doing some or all of the flying. However, for various reasons and regs, this time is not always 'loggable'.
I put it in my logbook anyway, and mark it in such a way as to show that it's not 'official' time. At the very least, it gives me a history of things I've done. However, when I do my totals at the bottom of the page, I don't add in the non-loggable hours. I have though, been keeping an Excel spread sheet where I track No-Log time separately.
It would be nice to be able to put Entries in the logbook in which you could put all the regular things like duration, landings, Multi-time, etc, but to be able to flag it as 'Unloggable', and hence have it not show up in your totals count. ( But maybe be able to run a separate report on non-loggable time, or have it show up in the report in Red, or some such thing )
