Spreadsheet data not loading

When I start the program and choose the layout (spread sheet or windows) I receive the message loading data, please wait..... well I wait and wait and wait and wait, it never shows up. Nowif I use the windows type layout the old dataI haveentered appears. Ihave downloaded the latest version and I am still having the same problem. Any suggestions?
