Hello,

I bought the following package:

Logbook Pro Professional Suite Palm Edition
  • Logbook Pro Professional Edition 1.9.6.5
  • Palm Companion
  • FlightCentral Route Browser
  • Video Training CD
  • Software CD

I installed LBPro on my PC (WinXP SP2) added an A/C and installed the Palm companion. I followed the instructions and got the following error on the PDA:

"Please run the hotsync again to download PC data to your PDA Companion.(No Aircraft Specified)"

Errors encountered while synchronizing NCSoftware
Conduit 'NCSoftware' Error: Unknown error. (FFFF)

I followed the instructions I got from the helpdesk of LBPro:

Remove Logbook Pro from your Palm by going to the main area then tapping the menu and going to Delete Apps. Remove "Lbk Pro", "Booster", and anything with "ingot" in the text. Next, go to your PC and then the Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove programs area. Uninstall AppForge Universal Conduit.

Reboot your computer, then start Logbook Pro and choose the Install option under PDA Companions\Palm Companion and reinstall your Palm Companion.

Still same problem. I even did a factory reset on the pda and only installed PBPro. Again, no succes.

My PalmOs version: 5.2.1r3 patch 1

Any ideas?

Regards,

Wouter

It appears the database is not getting created on your Palm device. Try following the steps in this article to manually create the NCSoftware DSN (Data Source Name) and see if it resolves your issue. Also ensure you have read and downloaded the database drivers/updates pinned at the top of this forum.

I did the following (as you sdescribed)

Downloaded and installed Microsoft Data Access Components.

Microsoft JET Driverswere newer on my pc (Service Pack 2)

then I looked at the "User DSN" and "Sytem DSN" Tab. NCSoftware was only listed in the user tab. So I added the correct information in the system tab.

Synced the PDA and the exact problem occured!

I rebooted the PC and repeated the steps in my first post and still no succes.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried it on another computer? I'm not sure why your Palm is not talking through HotSync with Logbook Pro. Do you have another Palm device to see if it is the iQue? Have you tried downloading the latest booster from AppForge?

It seems that either Palm Companion or AppForge (I even download AppForge Custom Booster 5.1.1 for the iQue 3600) is not compatible with Windows XP servicepack 2.

I followed your advice and installed LBPro on my Desktop PC running win xp SP1. Everything went smoothly and it synced fine.
I went back to my laptop with Win XP SP2 and the same old problem occured?

Do you have an explanation for this? Is it a know problem?

I'd like to continue SP 2. But it is also mandatory for me to log and manage my flight time.

Hope there's a solution for this problem

No thanks, that should do it. I'll let you know if I have any questions. I'm also going to add you to the beta forum, which you'll see appear at the bottom of the Logbook Pro forum list so you can test the upcoming beta if you don't mind and we'll see if we can pin this in the beta process.
