Importing 'Captain's Keeper' .dat file?

I've been using Captain's Keeper http://www.nimblefeet.com for a few years. As I'm changing over to a WM based system it will no longer work. I'm at the point of deciding on a replacement package (APDL + LBP) is on the short list.

Captain's Keeper has a function called "export" which, when used outputs a .dat file. I'm unsure of the format of this file, but if I change the extension to .txt and open it with Wordpad or Excel it looks something like a comma separated file. However, a lot of the critical fields are garbled and unusable.

Any ideas on a workaround or program that will open it in such a way that I can import it into LBP similar to my previous inquiry?

I did write to Nimblefeet but haven't had a response as yet.

Thanks in advance.
