This is going out to the beta testers mostly. Are you using the new APDL on iPhones or iPads or iPod Touches? If iPad, does it only have WiFi or is it 4G? Is it yours or your company's tablet? Just trying to get a handle on benefits of the larger size vs the inconvenience and if there is anything missing on the smaller iPhone format. My plan for now is to go with the iPod Touch as it will fit in the same shirt pocket that my Palm has lived in for 13 years and I already have a phone so don't need the iPhone. But I want to make sure nothing will be left out of that version or layout.
I'm also wondering if any of you are using your company's tablets for this application. My company will be going to iPads this month but they are/will be locked down so no other applications can be installed, only what they allow. Just wondering if that is the norm for those using company-supplied iPads. The initial reasoning for going with iOS (vs Android or Win8) was the dominance of iPads in the cockpit but I don't know what percentage of the companies allow other apps to be installed.
Thanks.

Company iPad Air, wifi only. My company does not restrict what we install on our iPads as long as we delete our porn history and cache before turning it in.

When I first started using APDL I would only use the hotel wifi to sync my day's work. Now, I frequently use my Android phone as a hotspot to get the latest info. I like to look at our arrival gate as well as the weather in the Status Board.

There are some minor differences between the iPad and non iPad devices when it comes to APDL. If you want to take a look through the documentation you can see some screenshots of these differences.

The biggest difference is the addition of the Logbook view which is iPad only. Logbook view represents a typical "trip book" layout for those looking for a nostalgic feel.

Other minor differences only deal with screen space available. The features aren't different, just the layout is rearranged on pages such as payroll, summary, productivity forecast etc where there is additional room around the graphs.

I use both iPhone and iPad. My iPhone is the primary device I use but when I'm sitting around playing on my iPad I'll use it to import trips and check legality. Also, it's nice to have APDL pulled up on the iPad when you're on the phone with scheduling.
