How does one export a specific year to Excel? I need to just export the current year and not the entire logbook for tax purposes. Everytime I have to export it does the entire logbook which now takes nearly 10 minutes.

You could use the filter system in the spreadsheet style log area (funnel icon) with a date filter. I suggest the export to CSV as it is much faster. The other options would be a date filtered Analyzer, etc.

No, open the spreadsheet style log and click the funnel icon on the toolbar and filter the data, then export it to CSV.
Even exporting your entire logbook to CSV should take a few seconds. Don't use the Export to Excel option.
