LBPro and Palm Desktop on different laptops

For business reasons, I have Logbook Pro on one (personal use) laptop and my Palm Desktop and Hotsync on another (business) laptop. How should I go about setting up for the Palm PDA Companion. Do I need to install LBPro on the same machine as the Palm Desktop, or can I transfer the appropriate files over. I have a Palm TX (OS 5.4.9) and Palm Desktop 4.2 running on Win XP Pro.
