Any tips on how I can set up my commericial certificate (for BFR's) and the expiration of my CFI certificate into the currencies so I can be warned prior to them expiring? Right now, only thing in my currencies is my day and night to/landings.

The History area is for logging any type of event that has an expiration. You will get a warning message prior to expiration. You can also create currencies that include History items by clicking the horizontal bar labeled "History Events" on the bottom right of the currency editor as shown in the documentation.
