Ok, I spent the money to try this for a month.
It's been 1 1/2 weeks and I still cannot figure out how to get my Southwest Airlines schedule onto APDL.
I have no idea how to use this schedule importer let alone what or where I'm suppose to get the data to import.

Any Southwest pilots out there that could shed a little light? So far this has been a HUGE waste of money and time.

I can't help you on your company side of things but once you do have trip data to submit you will go to APDL.net. on the left side at the top you will see a link for Schedule Importer. With the schedule importer displayed, follow the instructions and then paste your trip data into the text area labeled "Paste Trip Data Below:". Press the "Process Trips" button and then review your data per the instructions on the importer page.

I'm 1000% positive Southwest trips are supported so just finding your trip data to copy will be the first hurdle. Hopefully someone can help you further.

Hello Ron,

Here is an example of a SWA trip that you copy and paste into the app's in-app Importer or more easily you can use the Schedule Importer on APDL.net. As with most trips you select typically the pairing/trip number down through TAFB/Crew data.

Code:
Pairing 6010 Show 5:35 24.0/20:15/3/10 legs

1434 BNA BDL 15:05 17:15 2:10 2.5 300

618 BWI ORF 07:25 08:10 0:45 1.0 300

8:30 5:50 7.0
56:15 TAFB 26:50 20:15 24.0

Copy and paste your trip data into the big box and click Process Trips. Now it's saved in your cloud account and you can open APDL and then tap Importer on the menu. Tap the button to import all trips or tap each trip individually.

Note: I believe SWA trip data is fixed in Central Time Zone and if this is the case you can only use the importer on APDL.net and NOT within the app. On the APDL.net schedule importer click "custom" for the time zone option and choose Central Time Zone (it will remember this for you next time you use it) then process your trips. The importer needs to know the time zone of your trip data as it converts it to UTC. Also, after processing your trips review your trip data in the expandable trip grid. If the trip start date shows "SET DATE" it cannot derive the trip data from your trip data so you just need to click the EDIT button on the far right and then set the date, then save, and now it's ready to import into your app.

As with anything new there is a learning curve. Once you learn the cycle it will be much easier and less frustrating. Just ask here if you have any questions and we'll gladly help and you can also refer to the app documentation at Documentation - APDL - WIKI

You see, it doesn't look at all like your example. this is straight from the company site. I do not know how/where you got your example.

Is there another way you can look at your trip that might be a slightly different format?

Ron,

Do you have more information above/below what you pasted? Such as pairing/trip number, TAFB and/or crew at the bottom? Can you send me a screenshot and black out anything sensitive or e-mail it to me at support@nc-software.com may be better at this point. It seems like we are just missing some header/footer info from what you pasted above.

I'll look for your e-mail and I'll also see if we can add support for what you pasted above. If you have any other systems/formats available to you from SWA let me know, some airlines have multiple providers of their trip data.

Ron,

What you just sent me works. Here is what you need to paste in (all of it as shown below from TRIP all the way down):

The paste didn't work well, try a select all on your page and paste it all in or select everything from the word TRIP on the top left all the way down.

So in the meantime I get to pay for something that is unusable for me? Or do I get an extension, or credit?

Obviously we provide very fast support to assist you Ron. But also note that APDL is not just a schedule importer, you can easily enter your trips manually as well and enjoy the other 99% of the app. If you require any further assistance let us know. Thank you for your patience and allowing us to assist you promptly.

We have the capability from the company website at Southwest to display the trip times in local time too. I believe I import my trips like Neal mentioned...bring up the trip, right click and "select all," paste in apdl.net. Works great.

Neal (or whoever gets to this first),
This seems like the most likely thread although it's not a Southwest issue (I wish I had a Southwest question). Got the iPod to start importing trips from Dec and Jan, just to see how it works. I imported my trips (I think, it shows them there under 'My Trips' in APDL.net Schedule Importer. When I open APDL on the iPod to import those trips, it only imported one trip and is ignoring all the others that are still there. This is my first time using schedule importer in about 7 years. It all looks the same but don't know if I have to 'push' the trips somehow or if they should import to the iPod if I can see them in My Trips. Let me know, thanks.

I powered down and restarted the iPod. When opening APDL I get a message saying that I have 17 trips ready to import but when I go to Importer it tells me there are no trips to import. What am I missing?

Automatically Import set to off
Remove conflicting trips set on (slid to right with green)
Alert trips available set to on
I assume that if it tells me I have trips to import they would show up under Available trips when I go to the importer. Is that not the case?

Sign in to APDL.net and process your trips. Launch APDL and go to the Importer and the trips should show, tap the option to import them. If the app and importer are already open you can tap the refresh button upper right.
